The solution to any conflict is not to ignore it. We need to deal with the troubles we currently face; otherwise they will just reappear elsewhere. If your relationship is important for you and you want to stay together, work to solve issues. Learn to resolve fights and arguments by saying “Sorry.” If you want a relation to carry then forget your ego and solve it out. Use some of these skills:

Have trust in each other: Trust will profoundly affect your ability to resolve conflict in every relation.Real communication can only take place when genuine feelings and honest thoughts are expressed.

 Have trust in each other and your lovely long relation. This will create harmony and balance in your lives for years together.

Expect least from your partner: A major cause of conflict in relationships is expectation from each other. The problem with expecting certain behavior is that we get upset when they fail to live up to our expectations. We have to respect each others decisions on how to live their life. This is especially true for lovers who have an overbearing expectation of about each others behavior. Learn to accept people as they are and adjust whole-heartedly. Expect least and stay happy most.

Be tolerant: tolerance is something which will help you the most to solve a conflict. We need to be tolerant of each others mistakes and limitations. This is not indifference but there comes a situation where we need to give people the freedom to make their own choices - even if we don’t agree with them. It is best to remain calm and above all forgive and forget. Learn to be persistent in showing that both of you like each other and want to better your relationship at every stage of your life.

Talking out is the best solution: When stressed situations arise, talking can be the most effective way of brushing off the problem. As it is said some things are best left unsaid; it is advisable to not bring up old conflicts unless absolutely necessary. When talking should try to converse on positive issues; look for things which we agree on and can work together on.
