CYBER DATING
![]() |
Click dating is said to be the blossom of online love. The search for a companion, friend, partner, or a ‘date’ to spice up one’s life is not a new phenomenon; yet, it seems to have undergone a revolution. Not too long ago, relationships began in restaurants, in church gatherings, or during social get-togethers, where the chemistry between two people formed the beginning of an equation. Locked gazes turned into loving exchanges, leading to clandestine meetings to discover the potential of the relationship.
Today, the networking generation gazes into the resplendent computer screen to connect to the happening world of the World Wide Web, waiting for that precious life-altering Click.
The best part about cyber dating is that you can get right to the point. You’re both there looking for some fun or a date or a life partner. You can check someone’s profile and see what they’re into. If you want to avoid smokers, or vegans you can do so.
And, one of the great things is, you don’t have to be perfect. If you aren’t the kind of person who can sail into a bar or party and turn heads you can play Cyrano and win people over with your words. Also, you never know what is going on brain wise with one of those head turners. At least on the internet you know someone is literate and can use a computer!
Busy schedules and lack of meeting opportunities make dating very difficult; the Internet has evolved into a mainstream part of life and Internet dating is now regarded as a logical choice, not a desperate and dangerous method. And of course, there are the success stories. While there are certainly some dangers to avoid, there are a lot of successful relationships that began with Internet dating. Almost everyone knows someone who met that way - and they’re not ashamed to say so! Internet dating has morphed from the unknown to a viable and efficient way to meet people who share your interests and are looking for the same level of commitment.
So what’s the trick behind the click? Pressures on time and huge career demands leave people with little time for special rendezvous. Further, work place romance is considered risky, with the looming threat of sexual harassment complaints. This means the numbers of single people is growing by the day, leaving a large pool of people wanting to date without hassles.
